Okay, so here I am, I'm finally going to start a blog. I've been wanting to do it for a long time - I actually have had a page set up and waiting for a while! The stumbling block for me? I'm not really a writer; I'm not a word person, I'm a picture person. The thought of having to have something significant to say is extremely daunting to me. So, you ask, why do it? Well the best way to overcome your fears is to face them, right? But it's more than that - I want to know you and I want you to know me. Then it came to me - I'll just share my story through my art. That being said, here's a little bit about me.
As I said before, I am a picture person. I have always loved to draw, in fact, I would draw even when I shouldn't be drawing (like in class!). I was a daydreamer, and it came out on paper (hence the name Dream Out Loud Art!). I actually have part of a book cover (remember when students would cover their school books with brown paper bags?) from my German class. I guess I found drawing hairstyles more interesting that Mr. Shaterian. No, I don't speak much German!
Here's something from before High School - I'm guessing I was about 12 - homemade paper dolls! My friend Leigh and I had so much fun with these! Okay, so this was the sixties - dig those groovy threads, man!
So,I hope you join me now and again; we'll talk about art, life home, God and everything in between. If I run out of words, I'll show you the pictures!
I'm a wife, mother and artist - lover of all things creative! This is a place to share about art and life - past, present and future: growing up in the 60's and 70's, having (almost) finished raising kids, and of course, sharing my journey into the world of art!
